A remake of George A. Romero’s 1973 THE CRAZIES – which none of us saw. When a new director takes on a horror movie, you never know what you will get. Hopefully, a new angle on an old theme. Depicting crazy people is always tough. They never comb their hair and the drugs, instead of making them catatonic zombies, seems to make them don maniacal faces. Didn’t sage Forest Gump say it best – “Crazy is as crazy does”?
With the exception of CAPE FEAR (Martin Scorsese had to follow the original material and De Niro’s pleasure in playing sadist Max Cody brought a strong sexual tension to the thriller), Scorsese is not a director who should be handling the horror genre. Awesome movie
I saw the first every screening of this movie last October. Since then I have heard they have made some changes, but when I saw it, it was awesome! I loved every minute of it! It was extremely gory. It definitely deserves the R rating it was issued. The acting was AMAZING. There were a few parts where I was a little confused, so I am hoping that perhaps they have clarified those things, but nothing major. I definitely recommend seeing this movie.

THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG
Not just for kids!
Princess and the Frog provided much to the film making something that both children and adults can admite. The music (consisting of Dixieland, Jazz, Gospel, ect) in Princess and the Frog was brillant. It was nice to hear the variety representing New Orleans.
Adults can appreciate Disney`s return to 2-D animation- providing a nostalgic experience to the past.
Humor in the film was also provided for both children and adult entertainment.
Film leaves me salevating for the next 2-D Disney adventure. Too bad, we will not see this in the upcoming Rapunzel film.

Eye Candy- best 3-D film ever
Prior to seeing the film, I was informed that it was an amalgamation of space meets Dances with Wolves. The analogy was not too far off. The highlight of the film was the 3-D special effects sans doubt! Unlike any other 3-D film that I have seen, the effects were not always leaping out of the large screen in your face. 3-D was artistically used to give objects perspective. For example, background images unsually blurred out to show dimension, were completely visable with movement and dimensions. Film sets new standard for 3-D entertainment.

My life is up in the air.....
Great acting in the film. I am a frequent business traveller, like the main character. This made connecting to the main character easier for me as I could relate to his isolationist ways. The film was a constent promotion for Hilton Hotels and American Airlines. Would have been nice to have more character interaction/evolution than the not-so-subtle adversements.

Guido, the main character is a significant morally flawed character. His life is full of lies and affairs with women. His acting was horrible. Myself and friends watching the film felt no emotional attachment to him- not even during his moment of repentance. Fergie gave an all-star performance. I am not a fan of hers, yet her voice was amazing!

I missed the first screening and tried – unsuccessfully – to miss the second, as my well-known lack of compassion for others certainly would be tested. I feared THE BLIND SIDE would be the standard Hollywood hankie weeper about a rich lady who saves a poor, homeless black boy from a life of hardship and turns him, against all odds, into a NFL star.

First let me say that the level of special effects in this film are amazing, the action is full out, and the premise is very good.
That said, the acting was wooden , the script is a rehash of ALL of the movies that came before it. There a the same old thing. The movie uses every tired gimmick that we have seen in every disaster movie (ever notice that the good guys never get a scratch).
But all in all it was alot of fun (even at 2 1/2 hours).

This included some interesting information such as the 2nd Bill of Rights that FDR wanted to pass but was left as unfinished business but which some parts of are law in other countries and did illustrate some unfairness to specific individuals but M Moore trying to get entrance to some companies offices and being turned away has been done before.
Don`t recall the segment that has been on TV about using bullhorn to request medical aid being in the picture. Either I missed it or was cut in final editing.
As for his concerns and speaking out: we do need that.

Not like the old days
I grow up with GI Joe and was excited to see its adaptation to live action. However it seemed not that GI Joe was really the focus of the movie but rather it was an action movie made with the GI Joe name to draw you in. Cobra isnt created until the end and none of the characters (save SnakeEyes) had any real GI Joe characteristics. And what was with Cobra Commanders outfit in the end? Not looking forward to a sequel.

Twenty years after an alien mothership stalled above Johannesburg, South Africa, the glamour of alien visitation has vanished and the city is forced to accommodate 1.2 million stranded refugees. Problem is, the aliens have not, cannot, or will not, assimilate. They refuse to wear clothes. There has been no intra-species dating.
